Edward Farmer was the realtor whom I hired to purchase a house in Round Rock, TX. He was amazing – I cannot say enough to do him justice. Edward’s knowledge of the greater Austin area is impressive. I was looking in the Round Rock, Cedar Park, and Georgetown areas. He gave me a lot of input on everything from ground/soil conditions, what to look for in construction quality, etc. I provided him with my requirements, and he lined up a lot of really nice homes that fit the bill. He then drove me around to inspect the properties. At each place I got his insight into everything from flaws in construction, plumbing, wiring, landscape drainage issues, etc. But here is the proof that he is not just highly skilled and knowledgeable, but he is a man of honesty and integrity…. After narrowing it down to 2 properties, I was a bit torn and ended up choosing property “B” because I suspected there were some issues with property “A”. So, I asked him to make the offer. He called me some hours later and gently suggested why the property A might be better after all. He had taken it upon himself to investigate our suspicion of problems in property A. Based on his findings, he thought the house would be a better fit for what I wanted, than property B that I’d asked him to make an offer on. He was right – I bought property A after all and have lived here for almost a year. It’s the dream home. Now here’s the kicker: property A that he suggested (and I ended up buying) was over $50,000 less in price than property B, the original one I asked him to make an offer on. So he lost a lot of money in commission by suggesting I go with the property we originally had doubts on. And he turned out to be right – like I said, it turned out to be the best property. Throughout the process Edward always put my needs and preferences first, over and above his profits. He takes the long view that over many years, by doing right by his clients, he will (and has) developed a reputation for being an honest and highly knowledgeable and skilled realtor. You can’t go wrong with Edward. He has my highest recommendations. By the way, as an added bonus, he has been my go-to source for recommendations for contractors/workers/companies for everything from tree trimming to home remodeling. Everyone he has suggested has been excellent.

We hired Edward Farmer to help me sell my house in the summer of 2013. I relocated to Austin in January 2014, and Edward provided assistance with the onboarding to the areas dynamics (including first securing me a 12 month rental property). I was comfortable in the rental property; however I really wanted my own space, my own garden and a beautiful modern kitchen. Edward and I had meet many times over the course of my first year here and he took everything we discussed onboard and provided accounts in the real estate database so I was able to look at the entire market to fine tune the area I preferred. There was nothing that escaped Edward’s attention when it came to property for sale relative to my goals. I travel extensive for my employment; I felt I could really trust Edward and he knew what I was looking for, that when the perfect place came onto the market and I was abroad; he had arranged the contract and spoken to the Bank all on my behalf. When I arrived back to Austin I could see why he had aligned everything as this was a hot property that wouldn’t stay on the Austin market long. A master with the contract negotiations, Edward came up with a deal that was good for us and made the seller happy. He didn’t just stop there but his services included setting up the Inspections and subsequently the various subcontractors’ inspections. As a foreigner I really needed a delicate hand and help in every step in the process, to this end Edward was able to arrange my finance through his network. After closing his attention didn’t stop, I wanted to complete some renovations and Edward was able to arrange contractors to bid on the job, and ensure their honesty. I have had the pleasure of working with Edward Farmer since the early 90’s. Edward was a Realtor working for Keller Williams at the time and impressed me from the moment he knocked on the door and asked me about the neighborhood. At the time, I was living in Southwest Austin with my wife. The neighborhood was struggling from the bad economy and lacked a sense of community. Neighbors were reluctant to get to know one another. Within a few short weeks of that first encounter, Edward had organized a neighborhood watch program that brought us together to discuss relevant topics such as home safety and security and forming a voluntary HOA. Edward was highly motivated, knowledgeable but most of all a true public servant. My wife teased him telling him to forget the real estate gig and get into politics.
